Stop Looking to Others to Confirm What You Already Know

Have you ever felt deep in your spirit that it was time to move on… but waited for someone else to agree before you acted? Maybe you knew a relationship had run its course, a job no longer aligned with your values, or a decision needed to be made, but instead of trusting that inner nudge, you paused and looked around for confirmation.

The truth? You don't need a committee to approve your calling.

We delay peace because we wait for permission. We silence our intuition because we're afraid to stand alone. But what if the clarity you seek isn't out there, it's already within you?

What if you're not waiting on a sign, you're waiting on yourself to believe what God already whispered to your soul?

Scripture to Hold On To: "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." James 1:5 (NKJV)

You're not directionless, you're discerning. Trust that God has already deposited the answers inside of you. It's okay to seek wise counsel, but don't let outside voices drown out the still, small voice within.

Quote to Remember: "You don't need permission to trust what God already showed you in private." — The Practical Chaplain

What if the confirmation you keep chasing is already complete?

What if God gave you the vision because you were the one called to carry it?

The approval you're waiting for might never come from them. And maybe that's a gift. Because when you stop asking everyone else if it's okay to believe in yourself, you step into divine confidence. Not arrogance. Not impulsiveness. Just peace-filled clarity.

Activate Your Positivity: The 'Permission Slip’ Activity

Here's a simple activity to realign with your inner knowing:

  1. Write down something you've been waiting for someone else to validate. (e.g., "I feel like it's time to start the business… but no one seems to support the idea.”)

  2. Now write this: "I give myself permission to trust what I know in my spirit to be true.”

  3. List three ways you already have clarity:

    • What has God already revealed to you?

    • What signs have you seen repeatedly?

    • What peace do you feel when you stop doubting?

  4. Say this aloud: "I don't need applause to obey. I trust the voice of God in me.”

Repeat this any time self-doubt tries to creep in. Remember: silence from others does not equal silence from God.
